Authorities have identified the two women who lost their lives in a three-vehicle crash in Westminster on Thursday, 21st.
According to a report filed by the Orange County Register, on Sunday, November 24th, the Orange County Coroner’s Office released the identities of the victims as 58-year-old Eileen Sayegh of Anaheim and 56-year-old Denise Leverenz of Huntington Beach.
In a statement, Westminster Police Commander, Alan Iwashita said that the accident happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue in Westminster.
Cmdr. Iwashita told OC Register reporters that Sayegh had been driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Emergency crews arrived on the scene to treat her, but she died at the scene of the crash.
Denise Leverenz, who was riding as a passenger in one of the other vehicles in the crash was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of life-threatening injuries. She later died as a result of injuries that she suffered in the crash.
Authorities say that the drivers of the other two vehicles were also injured in the accident and were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. They are currently listed in stable condition.
The accident is still currently under investigation. Officials have not said whether impairment by drugs or alcohol may have played any role in the crash.
