Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were kept busy over the weekend with five separate accidents along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and a drug-related arrest.
According to the story appearing on The Malibu Times’ website, the first crash was a two-vehicle accident that happened at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1st, near PCH and the Malibu Pier. One of the drivers attempted a U-turn from the shoulder and collided with another vehicle. Both drivers were sent to an area hospital to be treated for injuries they suffered in the crash.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the second crash involving three vehicles at approximately 3:47 p.m. near Paradise Cove at the intersection of PCH and Winding Way.
The third crash along PCH that day happened at approximately 8:00 p.m. near Encinal Canyon. A short time later, another collision occurred at PCH and John Tyler Drive. Malibu Volunteers on Patrol responded to that crash.
On the night of Sunday, August 2nd, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and Malibu Search and Rescue responded to a call at 11:15 p.m. of a vehicle going over the side of Malibu Canyon. The victim of the accident was found and airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities had not released their identity and current condition at the time of the report.

On the night of Friday, July 31st, Malibu Beach Team deputies found a Los Angeles man, approximately 35 years old, who was lying on the beach and showing signs of drug impairment. He was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia.
