The Antelope Valley Press reports that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a crash near the intersection of Trevor Avenue and Ovington Street as a possible homicide.

On Monday, August 24th, at approximately 6:44 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of what they initially thought was a hit-and-run crash. After examining video footage taken from the scene at the time of the crash, however, deputies determined that the suspect vehicle hit the victim more than once before driving away.
Emergency crews were called to the scene to render aid to the victim. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was declared dead shortly after he arrived at the trauma center. Officials have not released his identity pending notification of family members.
LA County Sheriff’s deputies blocked off the area while a thorough investigation was conducted at the scene. By the time of the report, the streets had been reopened to traffic. Officials did not release any further information about the fatal crash.
