The CBS local Los Angeles news outlet reported a hit-and-run last week. The victim of that unfortunate turn of events has now died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The victim was a 68-year-old man who was walking in the wee hours of the morning on December 15 along the 1200 block of Long Beach Boulevard. The older gentleman was certainly in the wrong place at the wrong time, something he discovered when a 2012 Nissan Altima lost control and barreled into him.
After hitting the pedestrian, the car preceded to crash into a nearby tree. The driver, who has yet to be identified, then parked the car not far from where the old man had been hit. The driver then fled the scene to avoid arrest.
The crash happened at around 2:25 in the morning near Anaheim Street. The police have yet to find the driver responsible.
In the meantime, the older gentleman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Some days later, the police department was notified that the victim had died from his injuries. His name was not released by the authorities.
