Several posts ago, we wrote about a terrible road rage case that ended with a six-year-old dying from a bullet wound in his belly. Now police have arrested two people suspected of doing the murder, ABC7 reports.
Two Costa Mesa men were arrested, both in their 20s, for killing the child. According to the California Highway Patrol, both are expected to be charged with murder for their actions. Police did not state if they had retained attorneys by the time the article went to press.
The boy was sitting in the back seat of his mom’s car when he was shot in Orange. According to witnesses, the car driven by the suspects cut in front of her and she responded with a hand gesture. The car got back behind her car and fired a shot through the rear of the car.
The family raised money quickly for final expenses, then more poured in. The family offered a reward to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest. That reward amount has grown to at least half a million dollars.

“On behalf of Border Division Chief Omar Watson, and the Santa Ana Area, we are deeply grateful for the professionalism and tireless commitment of our investigators who have worked on this case from day one to find those responsible for [the boy’s] death,” California Highway Patrol Commissioner Amanda Ray said in Sunday’s statement.
The men are currently held in Orange County Jail awaiting trial. Neither could afford the $1 million bail.
