A 22-year-old man is dead after a tragic (and somewhat puzzling) accident in Garden Grove last Monday night, according to this report from The Orange County Register. The incident happened just before 10:20 p.m. on West Street just south of Dunklee Lane. Two vehicles were involved in the crash: a dust-light blue Chevy Corvette and a white Buick SUV.
After the fact, investigators worked to piece together exactly what happened, even though the details are still a bit fuzzy. The blue Corvette apparently veered from its lane, heading into oncoming traffic. It’s generally unknown whether this was due to a technical issue in the car itself or an error made by the driver.

As the Corvette veered into the wrong lane, it smashed into a white Buick SUV. Both vehicles were badly damaged by the impact, of course. Three people in the vehicles had to be removed by firefighters because they were trapped inside. The passenger of the Corvette died as a result of the crash, according to police that responded to the accident. The driver of the Corvette and the driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital with non-trivial injuries. Thankfully, there were no other passengers in the SUV, which has a seating capacity of 5 people.
