A man has been arrested after leading Watsonville police on a chase that ended in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday.
Patch.com reported on its website that Watsonville police were attempting to pull over a male driver in an Acura sedan for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and attempted to elude police.
Watsonville Police Department officers pursued the vehicle that continued to drive erratically heading northbound on Freedom Boulevard until colliding head-on with a Honda Civic, injuring the female driver near the intersection of Freedom Boulevard and Blanca Lane. The driver of a third vehicle attempted to avoid the collision but ended up colliding with the Honda.

Watsonville Police Sgt. Henry Robles told reporters that the driver of the Acura who had initiated the police pursuit exited his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene of the crash on foot. Police were able to apprehend the driver of the Acura near a Wells Fargo Bank Branch located near Clifford Avenue.
The suspect driver of the Acura was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was later arrested for his role in the multi-car crash and attempting to evade police. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities have also not released any further information about the current condition of the two other drivers involved in the incident.
Sgt. Robles said that the investigation is still ongoing.
