A DUI driver is suspected as the reason for a crash that happened on State Route 91 in Corona, according to the KTLA.
Last Saturday evening, police received reports of a Ford Windstar speeding eastbound along this road. The minivan was traveling at times over 90 mph down the road according to the California Highway Patrol.
The speeding stopped when the minivan crashed into the back of a Chrysler Voyager and started the chain reaction crash that eventually involved six vehicles. A woman in the Voyager was killed, and a man was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The alleged drunk driver and one other person also suffered injuries. The suspect was arrested after his release from the hospital.
This is yet another illustration among hundreds of thousands of the dangers of drunk driving. We all learn that drinking lowers your reaction times and clouds your judgment. It also makes you more inclined to act out of emotion. All these factors are extremely dangerous when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
We urge everyone who chooses to drink to use a designated driver or use a ride share app so they do not have to drive drunk. Make these arrangements before you start drinking!
