A multi-vehicle crash involving a stolen pickup truck and possibly five other vehicles has left four people injured – one critically injured.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the crash happened at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3rd at the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Vanowen Street. Los Angeles Police officers attempted to pull over the driver of a pickup truck that had allegedly been stolen. Rather than pulling over, the driver of the pickup attempted to evade police officers. A short time later, the pickup crashed into several other vehicles.
In the resulting multi-car accident, one person suffered only minor injuries while two others are in serious condition. One person, who was initially thought to have died in the crash has now been said to be in critical condition.

One eyewitness to the scene indicated that the pickup truck was possibly going as fast as 80 miles per hour before it flew about 40 feet and collided with the other vehicles. Additional eyewitnesses at the scene said that there were as many as four people who had been in the pickup truck at the time of the crash. Witnesses say that those who were inside the stolen vehicle got out and fled from the police on foot.
The LAPD did not verify the number of people who had been inside the stolen truck at the time of the crash, how fast the stolen vehicle had been traveling at the time, or whether any possible suspects were apprehended by police officers.
