When you’re sitting down to enjoy a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop, the last thing you are likely to be worried about is getting into an auto accident. Unfortunately, for a few patrons who were at a local Starbucks in Canoga Park, however, that’s exactly what happened this past weekend.
The Los Angeles Daily News reports that on Saturday, September 14th, at approximately 10:30 a.m. the driver of an SUV crashed into the Starbucks coffee shop located within the 7200 block of Canoga Avenue, taking out a plate glass window.
Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene. Authorities are uncertain why the driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the building.
No customers or employees were hurt in the crash. The state of the driver is unknown at this time.

Los Angeles Fire Department Heavy Rescue was able to extricate the vehicle from the front of the Starbucks. After inspecting the damage to the building caused by the crash, fire department and city engineers say that there does not appear to be any structural damage that was caused to the building by the crash.
So far, the driver has not yet been identified, and no charges have been filed.
